FRIDY NIGHT STABLEFORD COMPETITION
- Commences 23rd April 2010.
- This will return to the old format - ie. Tee Off is from 4pm onwards.
- Weekly and end of season prizes.
- Meals are available from the Specials Board each Friday evening.

NEW COURSE RECORD SET BY MARK NEWMAN !!
Congratulations to Mark Newman who set a new course record of 64 whilst playing in the July Medal - accompanied by thunder and lightning !!
The pervious best - a 65 shot by European Tour Professional David Lynn, had stood for 15 years - Matt Cooper had equalled it 6 years ago, but Mark went one better when he carded 6 birdies, one bogey and parred the rest. His handicap has been reduced to one - which takes him ever nearer to his ambition to become a scratch golfer.

BARLASTON TEAM TRIUMPH IN ANNUAL STAFFORD KNOT TOURNAMENT
Club Captain Neil Selby recently took a 4 man team to South Staffs to compete in the annual Stafford Knot Trophy, hosted by Lord Stafford. The team turned out to be an excellent choice as they came home with the trophy and were clear winners by 5 shots from the home club.
Brian Scott, John Strain and Andy Blackhurst completed the team of 4.

As most members will know by now we have recently introduced the Club 2000 swipe card system. Hopefully every member is now in possession of their individual swipe card.
This card will allow access into the golf club - thus offering a much better security system.
It also allows each member to pay for both food and drink using the card - the card can be topped up as often as required - the minimum top up being £10.
Competitions can also be paid for using the card and we intend to install a terminal to allow members to enter their own scores after each competition.
