We are pleased to welcome Gemma Sargeant to the role of Finance Administrator, Gemma replaces Gill Scott who has retired after ten years in the position.
Past Captains Paul Carr and Chris Havill have presented a cheque to the value of £1,355 to the Michael Lewis Foundation which was their chosen charity for their year of office. The foundation is committed to fighting Type Diabetes and is a strong supporter of Diabetes UK.
Ian Brailsford has been appointed to the role of Men’s Competition and Handicap Secretary; we wish Ian well in his new role.
Captain and Lady Captain, Colin and Sue Sherwin have chosen the Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group for their charity for the coming season and they look forward to your continued support. There will be a Captain’s Charity Golf Open on Saturday 24th July 2021.
New Practice Nets.
Courtesy of the Captain and Lady Captain, Colin and Sue Sherwin, the new practice nets are installed ready for the reopening.
On Saturday 19th June The Captain and Lady Captain hosted a joint day, Covid - 19 restrictions required a change to the normal format.
An excellent turnout of 180 members joined Colin and Sue Sherwin for the event, the weather played its part being warm and sunny.
Members enjoyed a breakfast bap on arrival followed by eighteen holes of stableford golf after which there was a BBQ served by Pam Bromley and her team with support from the Barlaston bar staff.
The leading players on the day where Thomas Wetton for the men and Esther McNeal for the ladies.

On Friday 2nd July the club entertained teams from the Club Sponsors, the event was hosted by Commercial Chairman Terry Adnams and Chairman for House and Bar Mike Fury. Following eighteen holes of golf the teams enjoyed the hospitality provided by the club.
A total of fifteen teams accepted the invitation and the event was won by Keys Estate Agents who sponsor the fourteenth tee.
Vice Captain Brent Hemmings has secured a parking space for the rest of the season. Brent made the successful bid in the Secret Auction, proceeds of which will go the Captain's Charity. The chosen charity this year is Children's Cancer and Leukaemia, the CCLG have played a key role in the outstanding progress made in cancer treatment for children and young people.
Congratulations to Yvonne Cope who achieved a hole in one while competing in a ladies open event at Prestbury recently and to the ladies in general who are having an excellent run in open events.
