Barlaston Golf Club

Men’s Section

Message from Captain, Michael Bailey.

It is my honour and privilege to represent Barlaston Golf Club as Club Captain for the 2024/25 season. May I offer you a sincere and warm welcome, whether you are a member, visitor or merely a ‘website browser.’

I have been a member of Barlaston for 15 years now and have lived in the Stoke on Trent area all my life. My passion was playing football but as I got older, I needed another sport hobby to keep me active. I was invited down to Barlaston Golf Club by a friend, who had also recently finished playing football and taken up golf. From that day onwards I was hooked not only on the game of golf but also on the Club itself. Over the years I found the members to be warm and friendly and

the course in my opinion, is the best test of golf in Staffordshire, whatever your level.  This is due to the fantastic job that the green staff do on a day-to-day basis in presenting the course to such a high standard, I would like to extend my thanks to the team for their hard work and professionalism.

Although compared to many of our long-term members, my membership has been quite brief, I feel really privileged to have had a fantastic experience during this period and have seen a lot of positive changes at the golf club. Improvements to the course and clubhouse are an ongoing feature in ensuring Barlaston continues to meet the demands of both members and visitors thanks to the forward thinking of the Club’s Board and Committee Members.

In whatever capacity you visit, you will always receive a warm and friendly welcome from our Club Professional, House and Bar, and Office Teams, to help complete your ‘golfing experience’ here at Barlaston Golf Club.

It has always been our policy to welcome new members, and we provide an ideal introduction through our Club Professional who offers an excellent Learning/Coaching Programme, which would prove invaluable to anyone taking up the game or those looking to improve.

May I take this opportunity of wishing you all a most enjoyable and sociable season of golf for 2024/5.
